Why We Run – Devon Healy (NYC2018)

Devon’s story … “My mom passed away from Melanoma in 1987 when I was 7 and my sister was 4. I don’t remember much about her illness but know it was pretty far spread already once they found it. In May 2018, I turned the same age (38) as she was when she died. She lived 13,984 days on this Earth and Saturday 8/25/18 will be my 13,985 day on this Earth. My sister and I ran NYC half in 2012 for 25th anniversary and I intended to do the marathon eventually for her 30th anniversary in 2017 but didn’t so I am doing it this year! NYC Marathon Sunday is my favorite day in NYC each year.”
