Why We Run: Molly (chicago team)

molly-lacy

My father was diagnosed with a rare type of Melanoma on the bottom of his foot. An area that rarely gets sun.

We were told this was a non agressive type of Melanoma.

He spent his retirement fighting the cancer that spread throughout his body and formed large cysts allover his leg.

I feel fortunate to have had the times we shared.

He showed me how precious and short life is.

I chose Jack’s Fund as charity partner before registration for the Chicago marathon even opened.

I want to run Chicago both for myself and for my dad.

Raising money for this great organization will help find a cure for Melanoma and also help families who are in the fight.

If I can make a difference in just one daughters life, the miles of training will be worth it.
